How I describe a piece.

Older objects deserve clear language. Each listing is written to show what Robert has found, not to hide the marks of a previous life.

Condition

Look at the photos alongside the written notes. Where an item has visible wear, a dial mark, plating loss, or a missing original detail, Robert aims to call it out.

Originality and details

On a watch, the movement, dial, case, production details, and parts all contribute to the story. When a listing identifies a production number, size, jewel count, case style, replacement band, or refurbishment, that is part of the piece’s individual description.

Working pieces

Some listings describe an item as running or functional. Vintage mechanical objects are individual, so the current listing remains the source of truth for the condition of the exact item you are considering.
